A new year a new resolution, or so they say anyway. I actually did achieve my 2014 resolution in part but I know I can do better. So this year yet again my main resolution is to get out more. More moots, more events more socialising. But more thajn that I’m going to get out of myself more.
The last two years years have been rough astrologically. Just as I got over my Saturn return as Saturn took a leisurely stroll through my first house, performing a number of retrogrades in the process. Needless to say it’s been tough, and Mercury hasn’t helped. I marked my trials with a tattoo to mark the occasion although the full scope of Saturn’s influence didn’t become apparent until a chance conversation in December days before it moved out of Scorpio.
This is the year of moving on, exploring the me of now with all my new experiences and learnings.
Not only that it’s the year of more academic learning, when I intend to join a online university to learn more about Stonehenge and possibly Dementia in Modern Society later in the year (I might even get that one accredited add an extra string to my bow come job hunting time next summer). So this resolution would be, to learn more and be prepared for the inevitable reentry to the job market.
I also resolve to Journal more. My wonderful friend gifted me this beautiful journal for Yule.
In honour of her and her own journaling project I’m resolving to overcome my hatred of my handwriting and use it to record information about Grammatomancy. Generally I want to become more proficient in this form of divination this year, so is that two more resolutions? Anyway, more journaling and more grammatomancy (and maybe a proper set rather than scrappy pieces of paper).
Its also a new year of blogging. This year I’m going to take part in The Pagan Experience. The structure might fit me a little better, with a cycle of four of themes being suggested with a repeated theme on the third week. It’s supposed to be a ‘Monday Musing’ but I’m stick with my Friday postings because it fits my schedule better. Also I’m going to cheat and combine the repeated deity theme with the 30 Days of Devotion. Firstly I will post about Pan before moving on to Lilith. I’m not avoiding Hekate but I wanted to concentrate on deities that haven’t received as much attention on the WWW with the 30 Days of Devotion project before stomping over old ground. I might also play it fast and loose on week four from time to time if I don’t have a letter post on mind or hand.
I suppose this resolution would be better described as ‘ I resolve to continue to blog and participate in the Pagan Experience as much as possible.
Just in case anyone missed it, this week’s topic for the Pagan Experience is Resolutions. Next weeks is on personal practice, see you then.
