Back when I was posting about Light for Leeds I drew some slight attention to the display board and hinted at a local announcement to come. I still can’t make a full and formal announcement but I can give you but more information, whilst at the same time bringing a bit of personal news.
Over the last 8 or so years of being devoted to Hekate I’ve given a three talks locally (within the county) and each time I was introduced as a “Priestess of Hekate”. I felt really awkward at the time because the term indicates a role of leadership and authority which didn’t, to me, reflect my solitary devotional status. I preferred the term “Devotee” and if what I talked and blogged about inspired others it was a bonus.
2019 has been a year of spiritual growth and having worked on my magical identity I’ve been looking outwards, with a slight shove or two from Hekate herself. I did deny the role earlier this year but soon after an opportunity presented itself and it looks like I won’t be able to deny the call any further.
It’s still too soon to make a formal announcement but to help kick start some energies I decided to put my commitment in ink, just as I did 6 years ago with my key.
So today, a few days after Deipnon, I had this tattoo drawn.
There are many layers of meaning to this tattoo, but ultimately it completes the circuit begun with Her Key on my left arm, and plays to my other Craft connections. It also gives a hint at the name and some of the brief that my project, which I hope to announce soon to begin in early 2020
